I am trying to assign an IP address to the axc f 2152 controller via DHCP by using the settings in PCWE (PLCnext Technology > Online Parameters > IP Assignment). I wrote the DHCP setting successfully to the controller, but upon reboot, the device still has its previous IP Address? Is there something else I have to do in order to set up the controller for DHCP?

I would also be interested in how to do this on the controller through an SSH connection.

Hi,

I would strongly recommend against such endeavors, as a dynamic IP might disrupt communications, when a LEASE expires or hour dhcp-server becomes unavailable.

If you really wanted though, you need to alter a file on the controller, /etc/networking/interfaces, and  change something there to like:

 auto eth0
    allow-hotplug eth0
    iface eth0 inet dhcp

But again, you probably should attempt this. Also, any updates from PCWE might overwrite those settings, causing unexpected behavior
