Hi Team,

We've been working with PLCnEng for some time now and I would like to mention something we think could be improved.
When connected to a PLC, in Connected- and debug state alike, there is no real visual feedback. No feedback on the status bar on the bottom of the screen or a change in colour somewhere.

We believe this could be improved. When programming there is no way of knowing the connected status except by clicking on the PLC (right click and check the status).
Sometimes we are trying to debug the software only to find we've been disconnected without a real indication. There could be some feedback like an icon or change of colour of the status bar. (gray for disconnected, green for connected and yellow for debug?). Then it's directly clear what the status is from anywhere within the program.

Thanks in advance,
Carel Kemper

Hi Carel,

first of all thanks for the hint and this is a very interesting point where we've already thought about intensively.
For now we've had decided that a bar might be not the best way.
As soon as the project contains more than one PLC (and PLCnext Engineer will support this feature in the future), will a bar not work anylonger.

Therefore we've to implement in the cross area section an "online state" view which shows the state of every single PLC.
Using multiple screens you could also move this window to another screen if you like to have a permant overview.

Well but I guess there is not the "one" solution, so such feedbacks are always very welcome and valueable for us.

Thanks once again!
