I have looked through the other discussions, and they don't seem to apply to my project.  There are no C# libraries or functions involved.  Editing any POU causes the error to go away, but it will show up again only on a Rebuild.  Double-clicking on the error does not lead you to any code area.  How can I dig deeper?

Hello sparky,
sorry for this inconvenience.
Can you revert the last few changes you made before the error occured?
What Version of the PLCnext Engineer are you currently using ?

In most cases I find that it works best to strip down the Project step by step to find the Program/FB/Codepage that causes the compiler error.

Some things to look out for.
1. Connected two different variables at InOut Variable
2.  Maybe a connection was added to a InOut variable instead of a variable directly?
This could happen if you change the FBs datatype from outport to InOut or a library that you updated did this.

I forwarded your question to the responsible support team and will update you with their solution asap

kind regards,
Oliver

I am using version 2021.  Can't revert, since I don't know when it happened.

This is a problem regarding a beta 2021 Engineer version.
