Is it possible to test apps during development locally on a target without the PLCnext store by invoking "plcnext install [appfile]" in a terminal? Or do I have to deploy it via the PLCnext store everytime?

 The procedure is as follows

1. Program your program
2. Create an app in the PLCnext Store and save it as a draft. In the draft space the app publication can be prepared. The app is not yet visible to the public, only for you.
- If necessary, license your app.
3. Create the app container directly on the PLCnext Control ( PLCnext Store Info Center )

4. Once you have created the app container, you can upload the container to your draft app in the PLCnext Store. The draft app can be installed on the controller via "Action" -> "install".
Alternatively you can install the app-conatiner with the WBM -> Administration -> PLCnext Apps -> Install App. It is also possible to start the app with the WBM. The firmware of the PLC must be >= 2020.0

Hello,

What you are describing would be a nice feature, but the last time I asked about this (some time ago) it was not something that was planned. Perhaps Daniel can let us know if this has changed.

At the moment the only two alternatives are:

  1. Manually install the app from the store, or
  2. Manually install the app from the Web Based Management console (no need for an internet connection).
