Hi,

having issues getting the eclipse C++ plugin to work as the toolchain does not appear other then the "MinGW GCC" which is the standard C++ compiler.

the one that I am supposed to see from the instructions i have read say that upon selection of the PLCnext library is "AXC F 2152 Toolchain"

i have followed all instructions and done them multiple times and with no success.

YouTube instructions followed:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8b5ExSuSxyI

Please see attached for result.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

     Many Thanks.

Hello,

I hope I can help ...

1. What version of Eclipse are you using? The current plug-ins were designed for Neon, and work OK with Oxygen ... but I think they don't work with Photon.

2. In the Eclipse "Help -> About" window, in the Installation Details, do you see the AXC F 2152 Toolchain ?

In any case, can you please try uninstalling all the Phoenix Contact plug-ins that you see in the "Installation Details" window - all the ones that have "Phoenix Contact" as the provider. Then please try re-installing the latest Eclipse plug-in (version 1.0.0.2017), using the procedure in the Video - and please note the Erratum related to the Windows path in the video notes!

It's also worth mentioning that with the next major PLCnext software / firmware release early next year, there will be significant changes to (a) the eclipse plug-ins, and (b) the structure of C++ programs and components for PLCnext ... so please keep this in mind when developing your C++ programs for PLCnext with the current version.

- Martin.

Hi,

yes i am using Eclipse Neon.3 just with a dark background.

i have found the Toolchain installed as suggested in the "help" icon, i then proceeded in reinstalling the software after  with the latest SDK and plugin

to find that the same result comes through.

could the be an issue with eclipse.3? or can you use any version of eclipse neon?

Many thanks for your help in advance,

Hi Harry,

Eclipse neon 3 should work.

Did you try uninstalling all the existing add-ins - all the ones with a "Provider" value of "PHOENIX CONTACT GmbH & Co. KG" - before re-installing? There have been some cases of re-installs not working with the old installs present.

And can you confirm that the Eclipse add-in file (and the sdk) is located in a windows path with no spaces?

Martin.

Hi Martin,

Yes i am able to say that the SDK is located in C:\Program Files\PLCnext\Win64

Yes i did uninstall all the files from eclipse and redownloaded the latest SDK and Plugin, upon going over the process again i found the following attached

is this showing that it cannot install the program? or is it missing something?

Many thanks,

Hmm, not sure what that error means but it does say that it will install the Toolchain, so ... does this at least get you past the initial problem?

Also, that SDK path has a space in it ... between the words "Program" and "Files" ... please see the notes underneath the video!

Hi Martin,

No this has not fixed the issue sadly.

even after moving the "PLCnext" folder to C:\Users\gbbh01\Documents\PLCnext instead of "Program Files" which is the one shown in the video and is a windows OS folder,

i have had no luck in fixing the issue.

Many Thanks in advance for your Time.
