Firmware releases
Release strategy
- Each year comes a long-term support (LTS) release which will be supplied with security enhancement and bug fixes (if necessary).
- Each quarter follows a feature release with additional capabilities.
- Those feature releases always contain the former features in full, so you can adapt your projects to new releases easily.
- Newer features will be included in the following LTS release.
This gives you the opportunity to develop your application or app always with the latest features.
Note: For applications, Phoenix Contact recommends to depend on LTS releases only, especially for applications related to certain approvals which always are examined for LTS releases only. For details, see the according Applications facet on PLCnext Control product pages.

Use the links at the item numbers in the table below for quick access to the product page. Those links lead you to the Firmware section for each product.
Note: Earlier feature releases (between the long-term supported releases) are left out intentionally. Those firmware containers are still available in the Firmware section of the product page on phoenixcontact.com, but Phoenix Contact recommends to always use long-term supported releases.

Firmware updates
You can always download all available firmware releases for your Phoenix Contact device – free of charge and even without creating a user account.
For easy access to the product page you can use the links at the item no. in the table below. Those links lead you to the Firmware facet of the Downloads section of your device's product page in the Phoenix Contact e-shop.
- Download the PDF document from the product page for your device:
- In the above table click the respective link at the item no. of your device type.
- In the product page that opens in a new browser tab, unfold the Downloads section, then the Application note facet, and look for "CHANGE NOTES" in the description column.
Tip: You can also find that CHANGE NOTES document in the downloaded firmware .zip package.
