License management

To run a chargeable software product from the PLCnext Store on your PLCnext Control, you need a corresponding license on your PLCnext Control.

Before you jump to the contents of the respective topics, here is what else you should know about licenses: 

• You need one license for each PLCnext Control. 
• A license can be bound directly to the PLCnext Control or to a LIC SD card. 
• You can move licenses back to the license pool. 
• The use of licenses is not time-limited (except for trial licenses, which are valid for 10 days after activation).
• You can activate the license on the PLCnext Control/on the LIC SD card online or offline. 

Purchasing a license

You can purchase a license directly from the PLCnext Store or from the Phoenix Contact sales department.

Installing a license

After you have purchased the license, there are two ways to install the license: You can install the license online (recommended) or, if you cannot or do not want to connect your devices to the PLCnext Store via the Internet, you can activate licenses offline.

Uninstalling a license

There is a standard procedure for uninstalling a license.
