DEVITY GmbH
About DEVITY
DEVITY turns connected industrial devices into trusted participants of digital ecosystems. Drawing on many years of research and hands-on experience in production environments, the German technology company specializes in digital device identities anlong the value chain, from device production to ongoing operation.
At the heart of DEVITY’s portfolio is KEYNOA, an identity and trust platform for connected devices. In hyperconnected infrastructures, trusted identities are the essential foundation for mutual authentication, encrypted communication, verified updates, and auditable interactions between devices, platforms, APIs and AI services.
KEYNOA equips every device with a unique, cryptographically secured identity and orchestrates the associated ownership information, certificates, policies and configurations throughout the device lifecycle. This enables devices to authenticate themselves, receive the correct deployment parameters, and connect securely to approved OT, cloud, and data platforms – without manual handling of long-lived credentials.
With Zero-Touch Onboarding and automated identitiy lifecycle management, KEYNOA replaces repetitive configuration steps and can reduce onboarding effort by up to 90%. Manufacturers, system integrators, and operators gain a scalable foundation for trusted fleet operations while supporting the implementation of AI applications as well as the requirements from the CRA, IEC 62443, and NIS2. KEYNOA is available as a managed service or for on-premises deployment.
DEVITY and PLCnext Technology
Together, PLCnext Technology and KEYNOA turn connected automation into trusted automation, from device production to ongoing operation.
For PLCnext Technology users, KEYNOA creates a trusted link between each device, its owner and its designated operating environment. This enables PLCnext Technology-based devices to be onboarded, configured and connected to authorized OT, cloud, data and AI services with significantly less manual effort.
Machine builders can prepare devices for customer-specific deployment during production, system integrators can reuse a consistent trust and onboarding model across projects, and operators gain transparency over which devices belong to their environment and which systems they are authorized to access. Existing PKIs, cloud platforms, identity providers and asset management systems can be integrated through open interfaces.
Typical applications include OEM series production, remote enrollment, distributed energy assets, secure device-to-cloud connectivity and trusted access to industrial data and AI services. The joint solution is already in use in the energy sector, where digital identities are provisioned during manufacturing and enable automated onboarding into the designated target environment.
KEYNOA can be deployed as a containerized application on compatible PLCnext Control devices, including the AXC F 2152 and BPC 9202S. Customers can therefore add scalable identity and trust management to their existing automation infrastructure without replacing established systems or platforms.
