About Reisenbauer Solutions

Based in Vienna, we develop a software platform that monitors and controls energy systems and integrates EV infrastructure. Our core products are energyOS and chargeOS, modular software that couples generation, storage, heating and charging across sectors, independently of manufacturer. They can run in the cloud or locally on site, with full air-gap and blackout capability — suitable for critical infrastructure.

Our platform sits at the centre of energy systems across industry, power generation and trading, construction, hotels and leisure, and municipal and public infrastructure. We also work in research projects, where the platform serves as the basis for developing and testing new approaches.

Reisenbauer Solutions and PLCnext Technology

We have been building on Phoenix Contact’s PLCnext Technology since 2018. The key factor in our decision was that PLCnext Control runs IEC 61131-3 and high-level programming languages side by side. Because our runtime executes natively on the controller rather than through a gateway, metering, PV, energy storage, heating and cooling, and charging infrastructure are handled as a single control task instead of several interconnected systems.

The platform supports the protocols we need in both directions: IEC 60870-5-104 for communication with grid operators, and Modbus TCP, Modbus RTU and PROFINET for field devices. In our Energy Master Control, a pre-wired cabinet for generation plants, this means certified plant control to TOR Erzeuger and VDE-AR-N 4110/4120 runs on the same AXC F 3152 as energy and charging management. With a DC-UPS in the cabinet the controller keeps regulating through a grid failure, and the system continues to operate without an internet connection — a requirement wherever energy infrastructure has to stay controllable.

The range around the controller counts as much as the controller itself. I/O modules, Modbus gateways, energy meters, power supplies and switches all come from the same vendor range, specified for continuous operation and long-term availability.
